Baretrax was born from a very personal journey. I’m Rob, and alongside my partner Annabel, we’ve always been interested in movement, health, and development. But it wasn’t until we had our first child, Freddie, that we truly understood just how important the right foundation is. Watching him take his first steps—wobbly at first, then stronger with each try—made us realize how much traditional shoes can work against, rather than with, natural movement.

Like all parents, we wanted the best for our child. We searched for shoes that would let his feet move, flex, and grow the way they were meant to. But we also realized that finding affordable, high-quality barefoot shoes wasn’t always easy—for toddlers, children, or adults. That’s why we started Baretrax—to help more people discover the benefits of barefoot shoes, making them easier to access and more affordable for everyone.
